Fourteen new primary care centres are currently being built across Ireland, each of the new facilities to include accommodation for primary care team services which consist of a GP and practice nurse, community nursing services, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and home help/support staff.
In addition, a number of the centres will provide dental, mental health, early intervention and doctor on call services to the local communities.
The new public private partnership (PPP) scheme is aimed at shifting some of the burden from hospitals to healthcare in the community and is being delivered by the consortium comprised of Prime, Balfour Beatty and its investors Prime UK Holdings Ltd and HICL Infrastructure Company Ltd.
The consortium chose to award Superior Storage Solutions, Irelands leading shelving supplier, the contract to supply Chrome Wire Shelving to all fourteen primary care centres, half of which are now fitted out.
Our chrome wire shelving system is ideal for this application due to the open wire construction offering excellent light distribution and ventilation through the system making it perfect for these centre’s laundry, linen & supplies stores.
The centres are being built in the west of Ireland in Sligo, Roscommon, Mayo, Galway and Limerick City; in Waterford City, Tipperary and Wexford Town in the south-east; as well as Kildare and Dublin North City in the east.
